Pooja Gandhi took a bold decision to star in Dandupalya to resurrect her career when it was on a downhill. For the role, she was asked to shed all her inhibitions and get into the skin of the character. More importantly, the character demanded her to do such scenes that she was never-been part of for five years. And the Mungaaru Male girl bravely faced the challenge and did her best in the role. Especially, first benchers enjoyed watching Pooja's skin shows and her bold scenes. Her much-hyped dare back scene, though disappointed audience as it was a scene merely lasted for few seconds, was the key factor to attract mass audience initially, but worked out well for the film.
