Don lives up to its expectations. The hard work of the hero, director and the heroine and the entire crew has paid off. This Don is different from expectations and has some refreshing story twists and taking.
On the whole this is a neat and full family entertainer which can be watched with the entire family except for two scenes where Anushka is Sexplosive.
Don Story
Surya [Nagarjuna] is an orphan who doesn’t even know who is parents are and at least how they look like. He rescues some street children from the clutches of a drug peddler. One of them happens to be Raghva Lawrence. They all become his followers and as Surya grows he grows up to become a Don.Raghva assist the don in his work and in turn Surya treats Raghva as his younger brother. There is a difference in the portrayal of this film Don. Unlike other don’s who are features bad guys in the films, this Don is a soft natured, honest and caring for everyone guy. He assists the people in distress and ensures that everybody is happy under his ruling.
Then the entry of the villain takes place ., his name is Stephen (Kelly doorjee) who is an international famed DON and after expanding his so called mafia kingdom in every state he eyes on Andhra Pradesh.
He approaches Surya and lures him to join him as a partner. But Surya understands the evil intentions of the Stephen and refuses him. This makes Stephen miffed up on the DON and his anger sets him to eliminate Surya and sets up a trap to kill him and expand his mafia empire in the AP.
The rest of the story revolves how Surya shields himself from Stephen and how he eliminates Stephen and saves the Andhra Pradesh and his followers. The climax is very interesting and must be watched on the silver screen
Performances
Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna has performed as Surya the DON and looks very stylish with his lavish costumes. He justifies his part well and has done a good work. The character of his has been properly carved keeping in mind about his image. His dances and his expressions and of course his action skills is a sure to watch and highlight of this movie.
Raghava Lawrence on the other hand looks good in Direction and acting department and also as usual his dance talent is very well exposed. He manages to ignite some comedy and also manages to extract some laughter from the audience with some situational comedy. But in the second part he dominates the movie and overshadows the hero.
The villain is perfectly apt and the director has done a good job by not casting any of the usual villains. Kelly is making his debut in Telugu industry and will be marrying bollywood beauty Lara Dutta in his real life in the month of March next year. He has justified his character.Anushka plays her usual glam doll role exposing her assets in required intervals. Her role is quiet limited but sizzles and once again gives a visual treat for the male audience with her toned body. The rest of the cast is apt for their roles and have done a good job.
Music for this film is good which is composed by Raghava Lawrence himself. In the song “Don Anna, Don Anna” the dancing talent of Lawrence has been exposed . And coming to the duets Nag and Anushka sizzle on the screen with the song Muddepettu …Muddepettu in which she literally kisses Nagarjuna nearly 30 times and more.
The fights are fast paced and are shot like in the Hollywood film matrix style and the violence is well controlled. The film runs slowly in the first half and runs like a train in the second half as if to complete the film very quickly.
On the whole this story is sure to run for 50 days. But more than that is?
